Cosmology with the cosmic microwave background anisotropies and polarisation

Abstract: The Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), observed today at the temperature of 2.75 K, is a relic emission from 380,000 years after the Big-Bang when the electrons and protons combined to form the first atoms. The small temperature fluctuations of the CMB, of the order of 100 mK, are a wonderful probe of the early universe providing information on cosmological parameters, such as the Hubble constant, the dark energy, dark matter and baryon densities, but also the parameters of the inflation, an exponential expansion period which happened 10-35 second after the Big-Bang. The Planck satellite launched in 2009 allowed to measure some of those parameters with percent accuracy. The CMB emission is polarised and primordial gravitational waves generated during the inflation imprint a specific CMB polarisation pattern called B-modes. This is the target of present and future experiments with telescopes on the ground or in space. With this measurement we will to probe new physics happening in the very early Universe. In this presentation I will introduce the Big-Bang Universe and show the physics of the perturbations of the CMB. I will describe the best constraints from measurements and future experiments.
